1.       In March we had a stall at the Redlands Good Gardening Expo at the IndigiScapes Centre, 17 Runnymede Road, Capalaba.  What a beautiful, restful bushland  setting this is.  We were so delighted to be invited to “Indigi Day Out”.  This was a 2 day event, celebrating the environment, arts and music of Redlands,  on 1st and 2nd June.

There were many activities and stalls to entertain and educate both children and adults.

·         The face painter was kept busy decorating the children and the Indigi staff

·         the gelato was the best we have ever tasted (the passionfruit was yummy)

·         I learnt that it is difficult to relocate koalas as they will return to their original territory

·         I bought jicama seeds.  Jicama is a climbing legume which produces a root tuber which may be eaten raw or cooked.  Come on spring so I may germinate the seeds.

Thanks to the Indigi staff for their efficient organisation and help.

Was anyone else there?

2.       The 5th and 6th June found Puzey Garden Stakes at the Winter Garden School in Toowoomba, organised by the Leafmore Garden Society. As this is our home town it was great to display our products at the event.  This is a biannual event and the committee presented an inspiring programme of guest speakers  - Penny McKinlay, Ross McKinnon, Claire Bickle, Angus Stewart, Phil Dudman and Clint Kenny – who gave presentations on gardening topics.  I wish I had a CD of the presentations as there was so much helpful information.

I was especially pleased when Ross McKinnon spoke of the health benefits of starting the day with a cup of tea made from fresh ginger.  This is part of my routine.  On Ross’ advice I shall be growing my own organic ginger next season.

Thanks Leafmore Garden Society.

3.       This week on 5th and 6th June Puzey Garden Stakes will be at the Warwick Horticultural Society  Gardening Extravaganza at St Mary’s Hall, Wood Street, Warwick.  Come along and talk to us and as the brochure says “browse and be inspired” by all the activities and stalls.

Recently I was given a bunch of beautiful gerberas.  As the gerberas tend to droop after a couple of days in a vase we used the top of the adjustable Easy Stake to support the blooms.  The result – the gerberas lasts and looked great for 10 days.  Easy Stake the Gardener’s Mate has become Easy Stake the Flower Arranger’s Mate.

Easy Stakes the Gardener’s mate were introduced to Brisbane at the Redlands Good Gardening Expo. Puzey Garden products joined other stall holders in the beautiful Redlands IndigiScapes Centre which is in the botanic gardens and environmental education centre of the Redlands City Council.
Thank you to everyone who enthusiastically embraced and purchased our Easy Stakes.  Many people tookadvantage of the expo special – buy 5 and get 1 free. The lovely Marilyn purchased 3, went home and placed them in her garden.  She came rushing back, still in her garden gear, to purchase 7 more. Well done Marilyn to gained 2 extra Easy Stakes as you qualified for the special.
